CLIVE ARDAGH, founder.

I am a freelance filmmaker with many years experience as a shelf shooter, making promotion films and online content for environmental organisations, museums, artists and academic institutions.  I have always been fascinated by how people are connected to their environment and to nature and was lucky to be based in northern Norway for 15 years until 2017, during which time I also ran documentary workshops with asylum seeker groups and taught extra curriculum projects in schools.

It was making short films for an English National Park on re-naturing during the pandemic which prompted me to do a masters in Media & Development at SOAS. I became particularly interested in the culturalisation of landscape which synthesised my previous work. My dissertation centred on the UK media narratives on rewilding and since then I developed and founded London Nature Films, a festival screening films about nature in London and other cities.

Through my research, which also includes an MSc in Holistic Science and my many years of experience as a filmmaker, I have developed a nuanced, in depth approach to documenting various topics including nature and our complex relationship with it. I often work with trusted colleagues who bring additional skills such as drone operation, motion graphics and editing to my film projects.

I am presently making a documentary over 2 years about the transformation of a dangerous junction in North East London and the perpetual flow of life through it.

Recent work includes promotion films for Drinkable Rivers, South Downs National Park and Schumacher College
